It’s not often we get to experience much culture (beyond style culture that is) when we globe-trot. Our schedules are jam-packed. Fortunately on one of our more recent trips to NYC we were able to sneak in a visit to Kara Walker's larger than life exhibit The Marvellous Sugar Baby. We visited this enormous installation which recognized the labourers and the production of all things sweet from plantation beginnings to refinement and beyond. Installed, exhibited and ultimately slated to be demolished along with the Domino Sugar Refining Plant. A powerful and memorable day spent in New York.
